CHALLENGE

Robit was looking to reduce the burden of their IT maintenance while simplifying cost monitoring. They aimed to find a cloud solution that would automate version updates, ensure stability, and provide 24/7 accessibility without the need for VPN connections. Moving to the cloud was also appealing as it eliminated concerns about fixing bugs. With a design business in Finland, the UK, and Australia, Robit needed software that could meet the needs of a global organization.

SOLUTION

Robit chose 3DEXPERIENCE Cloud to lessen their IT maintenance workload and allocate more resources to core operations. They also integrated their existing SOLIDWORKS software with 3DEXPERIENCE using the SOLIDWORKS Connector. Users now have the option to access 3DEXPERIENCE through SOLIDWORKS or directly through the browser.

3DEXPERIENCE Cloud Migration: Why Timing was Key for Robit

Robit originally partnered with TECHNIA in 2017. Deepening their cooperation with TECHNIA, a well-known supplier of Dassault Systèmes, and transitioning to 3DEXPERIENCE Cloud was a logical solution for the challenges faced by the growing company. However, this decision wasn’t made overnight.

Robit had been closely monitoring the development of 3DEXPERIENCE for years, assessing whether the cloud version could meet their processes and requirements. The switch to the new system was driven not only by the maturity of 3DEXPERIENCE Cloud, but also by the need to update their previous system.

The software offered numerous possibilities, from fundamental processes to naming conventions. During the Proof of Concept (PoC) phase, test data was seamlessly transferred between systems.
